We welcome prospective candidates from anywhere in the US and from a variety of racial, ethnic, economic, and cultural backgrounds. Applicants must be ordained within the Anglican tradition. The length of the process is variable. Any prospective candidates who are dropped from the process will be promptly notified. All information submitted will be treated with strict confidentiality.
The process for assessing prospective candidates in the Anglican Diocese of the Great Lakes is:
Prospective candidates should submit the following packet of documents to the Apostles Search Committee via our website at the link below:
An introductory letter explaining your interest in the position,
Curriculum vitae including personal and family data, educational background, and work (and ministry) experience,
Response to the Apostles Parish Profile (up to 500 words), and
Links to one sermon with an optional second one.
The Search Committee will receive and review applications. Candidates will be contacted to schedule one or more interviews. Applicants not moving forward will be notified in a timely manner.
After prayer and discernment, the Search Committee will present the names of one or more candidates to the Apostles Vestry for consideration.
The Apostles Vestry will then present to the Diocesan Bishop the name of a candidate.
After making requisite background checks, the Bishop will give final approval for the church to call its new Rector.
